The Rotary Club of Rotorua North held their annual change-over evening at the Pullman Hotel on Arawa St this year, with Rotarians and guests enjoying a fabulous Matariki-themed dinner, marking new beginnings.
Organised by the incoming President, Judy White, the new theme for 2025/2026 is to ‘Unite For Good’.

White said the International Rotary President, Mário César Martins de Camargo set the intention, which inspired her. Once she had received her chains of service from the outgoing president, Henry Van Twuiver, Judy said:
“Rotary members are people of action. We don't wait for change to happen; we make it happen. And what do people do? We unite for good.”
The theme of the evening’s dinner was Matariki, as the Māori New Year dawns over 2025, it was explained that Matariki is the Māori name for the cluster of stars also known as the Pleiades. It rises in midwinter and for many Māori, it heralds the start of a new year.
White's approach to her presidency includes the addition of a media team that would focus on the digital presence of the Rotary Club of Rotorua North, highlighting key events like their primary fundraiser, the Rotary Kuirau Park Market, which is held on Saturday
Mornings.
The team is made up of Rotary members, Thomas O’Leary and Anne Wooliams.
RYPEN the Rotary Youth Programme of Enrichment and RYLA - Rotary Youth Leadership Awards also checked in at the dinner to highlight their achievements in the local community.
